Tickets For Opening Art Panel Seminole Art Scene From The Frontlines Exhibition

Meet the Artists on Sunday, December 2, from noon – 2 p.m. 

Come peruse a retrospective of contemporary and traditional Seminole art. Meet the artists. Enjoy experimental live readings of historical poetry and prose and relaxing Native American music. Free with admission.

Coinciding with the art exhibit, will be the first Art Basel VIP Seminole Artist event in Fort Lauderdale. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists, enjoy experimental live readings of historical poetry and prose and purchase works plus view a live art mixed media performance piece by Elgin Jumper and Native American Flute player Gordon Oliver Wareham. The artists will also participate in a curatorial panel discussion on the state of the Native American art scene.

“This is an exciting time for the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society as we partner with Art Basel to expand our reach by showcasing our unique cultural heritage to a more global audience,” said Patricia Zeiler, executive director of the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society. “On this 101st anniversary of the start of the Seminole Wars and the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, we remember those who have fought for our survival through fine art, traditional crafts, a showcase of artifacts, historical texts and more during Native American Heritage Month.”
